Learn SEO

I'm sure you've received tons of SPAM emails and maybe even phone calls about SEO (search engine optimization). Cutting to the chase: Increasing your search engine rank... Should you hire someone to help your business? Is it worth it to invest and hope for a ROI (return on investment)? Well, that depends on your schedule and budget.. Let's get it straight with SEO: it's not a race, it's a marathon. With that being said - any company offering you quick results is full of sh*t. It takes time to get your site ranked among the big boys, and if you're promised fast results, it's most likely a company using black hat tactics.

What is black hat tactics? It's a method(s) used to cheat search engines to rank your site higher. Sounds good right? Why not use the short cut and get ranked in the top search results faster? Well, because search engines like Google have anti spam teams that watch just for these methods. And if you're thinking about taking that chance for quick SEO results - keep in mind: How many other people are using that same method? You're just following a pattern that all search engines watch for in black hat tactics and you will be caught, period. And once you've been caught, your site will be removed from the search engine results permanently. So forget Link wheels, Spam-bots, and Link Farms and focus on legit back links and fresh content.

Fresh content and Back links are key in any SEO campaign. I'll get into the details in part 2 of my SEO 101. Videos coming soon.
